Basic Scaffold Training

DOSH Registration in Malaysia. DOSH stands for the Malaysian Department of Occupational Safety and Health. They introduced the DOSH certification, a statutory certification standard recognized by the Malaysian government. Products that are not DOSH certified cannot be sold in Malaysia.  As a government agency, the Department of Workplace Safety and Health (DOSH) is responsible for administering and implementing legislation about the country’s occupational health and safety.

The Malaysian Factories and Machinery Act govern boiler and pressure vessel regulations. As a result, all pressurized equipment and machinery, whether manufactured or imported, must be inspected and authorized by a recognized third party to ensure its safety. Experts have worked with manufacturers all over the globe to verify that their products meet the DOSH Unfired Pressure Vessel standard and are lawful to import into Malaysia.

The Directorate of Occupational Safety and Health Services (DOSHS) is a department of the Ministry of Labour and East African Community Affairs whose major aim is to ensure all workers’ safety, health, and welfare in all workplaces. Accidents, illnesses, natural catastrophes, and pollution result from a dangerous and unpleasant work environment, which imposes enormous economic and social costs on individuals and organizations, impeding economic and social growth. The Department of Labor and Human Resources also keeps track of all workplaces to verify that they are registered and obey the rules.

The Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH)/Jabatan Keselamatan & Kesihatan (JKKP Perak) is the Malaysian government agency in charge of administering, managing, and enforcing legislation related to occupational safety and health (OSH) in the country, to instill an OSH culture in every workplace and make every job and task safe and healthy for workers.   • In Malaysia, Section 74 (1) of the Regulations (Building Operations and Works of Engineering Construction) (Safety) Regulations, Factories and Machinery Act, 1986 specifies that all scaffold installation, dismantling, and maintenance is the responsibility of scaffolders. 
  • Maintenance work must be managed or inspected by a “designated person” or competent person selected by the employer.
  • The scaffolder must take scaffolding courses at a DOSH-accredited scaffolding training center to register with the DOSH.
  •  A DOSH-registered and certified training center must host such a course.
