LIZ EARLE GENTLE FACE EXFOLIATOR: REVIEW

I was so happy to receive this product as I’m one of those who suffers from oily, yet dry skin so I’m forever needing to scrub up to keep my face in check. I was also extremely excited to see that it contains cocoa butter, as I have some scarring from my teen years and it’s one of my go-to’s for fading. The first thing I noticed about this product upon opening was the delicious smell – kind of like a creamy tea tree smell – yum!

On first use, when I squirted it I did think that the exfoliator seemed a little thick, but when I started applying I found that it’s the perfect consistency and not only that, it is light and not too harsh as I have found some exfoliators to be. Gentle? Check. When I was applying it I did realise that I had squirted out far too much, a little goes a long way with this one! I was really happy when I washed it off, it left my skin feeling squeaky clean and super soft – a feeling I’ve not felt for a while (damn junk food addiction = bad skin and hiding behind my Ray-Ban Sunglasses). Exfoliated? Check.

Throughout the day of my first use I noticed that the amount of oil I usually get was actually reduced and my skin was looking pretty darn great (this was a no make up day) so I found there are definitely other benefits as well as exfoliation to this product, especially around my nose area which is a real problem area for me for flakiness and congestion…. A*’s so far! By day two I definitely woke up with noticeably improved skin – yesterday’s imperfections were almost gone and my make up applied really nicely (I don’t use primer or base or anything because, well… I’m lazy and broke!) and again, no oil, which is even more surprising as I always get it when wearing my full face of make up. Definite thumbs up for this product. It’s been added to my daily skincare routine.
