Can a Modular Kitchen be Installed within a Budget of Rs. 50000?

Usually, an ideal modular kitchen building requires near about one lakh rupees from the beginning to the end with special emphasis on countertops, cabinet materials, accessories etc. However, estimating a modular kitchen price less than Rs. 50,000/- is not impossible if you have budget restraint but necessarily need a modular kitchen. Each kitchen especially the modular kitchen basically has four fundamental and major components such as flooring, cabinets, countertops, and accessories. If you have sufficient budget to ensure the high quality of these four elements of building a modular kitchen, you can spend as much as you want. On the other hand, if you do not have that much of budget you will have to work a bit harder in order to ensure both convenience as well as quality.

As far as budget is concerned, first comes the cabinets which spend the major portion of the budget in terms of purchasing and installing them. However, since you need to work on a limited budget, you must determine the appropriate cabinet materials and choose the right materials for your cabinets. You can still buy good cabinet materials such as MDF and pre-laminated particle boards with your budget of fifty thousand rupees. These cabinet materials will serve your purpose for not less than two to three years. Since you are working on a modular kitchen, you can further replace them if required. It is good that you invest in cabinet with shutters and can consider PVC membrane or post-forming or laminated types. These materials will provide a sleek and stylish finish.

In a rough estimation of cabinet materials purchasing within a budget of 50000 for a modular kitchen, the price will come as ten to twenty rupees per square foot of six mm thick pre-laminated particle board or MDF, Rs. 850 to Rs. 1000 per sq. ft. for PU shutters, Rs. 650 per sq. ft. for post-forming shutters, Rs. 700 to Rs. 800 per sq. ft. for laminated shutters, and Rs. 250 per sq. ft. for PVC membrane shutters. Similarly, for cabinet accessories, you will have to spend hundred to six hundred rupees per piece of stainless steel knobs, nickel knobs per piece Rs. 100 to 300, wooden and glass knobs Rs. 25 to 50 per piece, carcases and stainless-steel carousels from Rs. 1600 onwards, and racks and wire baskets from Rs. 1000 onwards. This rough calculation is but an idea for you to work out a good budget so that you can efficiently build a modular kitchen within the budget limit of fifty thousand rupees.
