How to find products to sell on Amazon

Selling products on Amazon is a lucrative business but the problem is finding products with low competition and ability to make a good profit while selling these products.

So how can anyone find products that will sell well and also would be relatively easy to market them.

It’s never easy.

But luckily there are tools to help with that.

So, here’s what you need to do:

  1. Analyze the top sellers in every niche using JungleScout or ViralLaunch:

a. With JungleScout you can analyze the top sellers in every niche and see which products are the winners for them.ore.

2. View the monthly sales of the products and see if it makes sense for you.

Next, you need to dedicate the time for product research and here’s my criteria for finding products that will make 5-10k sales a month:

  1. The top-5 results should have products with less than 100 reviews.
  2. Top-10 results should have at least 5 products with less tan 100 reviews.
  3. The average product price is more than $50.
  4. Try to fin as many synonyms for each product as possible and see which performs the best.
  5. Use Amazon fulfillmentcenters and brand your own items.
  6. Once you find 5-10 ideas, monitor the niche and see how much products are sold per week.

Once you have the product list it on Amazon and it’s time for marketing.

Which is also the most difficult part.

So, here it goes.

Marketing your products

After you’ve got an initial sales page up and a product on it, it’s time to drive some traffic to that site and see if we can get any bites. You’ve just got to get creative here to identify cheap, effective means of getting visitors. Of course, social media pages are a good and necessary start, but ‘likes’ don’t just come to those either.

Try about 20 different methods to drive traffic to that site for free, and see if any of those marketing methods work particularly well. If they do, double down on those channels, focusing all your time on them, and possibly some money if it makes sense.

One great example of “free” traffic was hitting it big on ther Shut Up And Take My Money subreddit. Manipulating social media for exposure is significantly cheaper than buying actual ads.

That being said, facebook ads are the easiest way to start. Sure, they cost money, but there’s a good chance you will make money on the campaign. At the very least, you will find out quickly what sales copy and imagery works, and what doesn’t. Then you can put all your money into the working campaign, and use that copy on your “free” marketing channels.

Facebook charges for ads on a ‘cost-per-click’ basis. You could pay anywhere from $.05/click to $10/click. Costs vary depending on who you are targeting. Everyone has a price on their head based on the information facebook has about them.

So, at any given time, I could be targeted by 10, 50, 300, or more facebook ad marketing campaigns. The more target audiences I’m in, the more facebook charges to reach me (supply/demand).

So, when you sign up to run facebook ads, you will give facebook a picture and some ad copy, and you will tell them from all of their different targeting options who you want to target.

The more specific you get, the better chances you have to find your right target audience. Keep testing what works the best and don’t give up – eventually you will start making money.

Wrapping up

And this is how you get started to make at least 5-10k a month on Amazon.

Best of luck and hope you will make it happen.
